Lizzie Mujuru, PhD
Dr. Lizzie Mujuru is a distinguished scholar and expert in environmental science, forestry, and sustainable development. She holds a PhD from Wageningen University (Netherlands), an MSc in Tropical Resources Ecology from the University of Zimbabwe, a BSc Honours in Forestry from Sokoine University of Agriculture (Tanzania), a Diploma in Forestry from the Zimbabwe College of Forestry, and a Certificate in Land Use Science from Brown University (USA).
As a Senior Lecturer at Bindura University of Science Education since 2017, Dr. Mujuru has established herself as a leading academic and researcher in her field. Her professional experience also includes serving as a Non-Executive Board Member for Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (2018-2023) and as the Head of Delegation for Zimbabwe at the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (since 2018).
Dr. Mujuru is a sought-after consultant, providing expert services in food and nutrition security, livelihoods, climate change, institutional capacity building, and research. Her areas of expertise include climate change, natural resources management, biodiversity, agroforestry, non-timber forest products, and social forestry.
Portia Zimbeni
Ms. Portia Zimbeni is a communications and administration professional with over 15 years’ experience across higher education, government, media, and public relations. She serves as Manager in the Vice Chancellor’s Office at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, leading institutional communication, branding, crisis communication, and senior stakeholder engagement. Her background includes senior roles at Midlands State University and the Ministry of Lands, with strengths in public administration, gender mainstreaming, and complex stakeholder coordination.
Ms Zimbeni holds a MSc in Communication and Media Studies, Postgraduate Diploma in Media and Public Relations Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in English and Communication Studies. She is an Accredited Freelance Journalist and Fellow Member of the Institute of Public Relations and Communication.
She is a nationally recognized Award Winner and brings strategic communication, governance, and administrative expertise to the Board.
Herbert Chadehumbe
Herbert is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in strategic financial planning, risk management, and governance across multiple industries. He brings strong expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and corporate governance, supported by senior leadership roles including service with the COMESA Business Council.
Herbert holds multiple internationally recognized certifications - CGMA (CIMA), CFE (ACFE), CICA (TheIIC), and membership with IRMSA and advanced academic qualifications in finance and accounting from NUST and Midlands State University. His combined technical, academic, and leadership strengths enable him to drive sound financial oversight, risk mitigation, and sustainable stakeholder value at board level.
Sibusisiwe Ncube
Ms. Sibusisiwe Ncube is a registered nurse and public health professional with over 16 years’ experience strengthening health services across Zimbabwe, Namibia, and South Africa. Her expertise spans hospital and community health, HIV prevention, occupational health, and maternal and child health, with a strong focus on quality improvement, patient safety, and ethical care.
She has led the establishment of new health service units, implemented initiatives that reduced adverse events, and supported health system strengthening in resource-limited settings.
Ms. Ncube holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health and a BA in Nursing Science from the University of South Africa, alongside advanced training in midwifery, environmental health and safety, and HIV programming. She is fully registered with nursing councils in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe and brings a practical, community-centred perspective to Board governance.
Runyararo S. Gurira
Runyararo S. Gurira is an experienced legal services specialist with a strong background in legal advisory, litigation management, compliance, and dispute resolution across both public and private sectors.
She has held senior roles including Legal Manager at Printflow (Pvt) Ltd, Legal Services Manager at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, and Principal Legal Officer at the Attorney-General’s Office. Runyararo holds an LLB (Honours) from Midlands State University and a Master’s degree in Public Sector Management from Africa University, complemented by certifications in Legal Drafting and Project Management. A registered Legal Practitioner, Notary Public, and Conveyancer, she brings valuable expertise in governance, regulatory compliance, and institutional legal oversight at board level.
Maxwell Phiri
Maxwell Phiri is a highly experienced development practitioner with over 25 years of expertise in social forestry, climate change, and rural development across Zimbabwe and the sub-region. He has served in technical and management roles within the Government of Zimbabwe and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Currently, Maxwell coordinates the EU-funded Sustainable Wildlife Management Project in the Zimbabwe component of the KaZa landscape and serves on advisory and governance boards. He is widely recognized for his leadership and technical capacity in advancing community-based natural resource management, rural livelihoods, and sustainable development initiatives.
Felix Tete
Felix Tete is the Founding Chief Executive Officer of Human Impact Hub (Hi-Hub) and a seasoned development practitioner with over 30 years of experience spanning the non-profit, private, and international development sectors. He previously served as Founding CEO of Hand in Hand Zimbabwe and as Country Director for Hand in Hand Southern Africa (Zimbabwe).
Felix holds dual Master’s degrees in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance and Environmental Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation, and is currently a PhD Candidate in Management Sciences. His expertise includes entrepreneurship and enterprise development, women and youth economic empowerment, climate change, food and nutrition security, gender, and community resilience. Widely recognized for championing integrated, community-driven development approaches, Felix brings strong leadership in programme design, evaluation, partnerships, and resource mobilization to drive inclusive and sustainable impact.
